Making Your Vision a Reality

Toby has worked internationally to help major corporate, government, and non-government organisations achieve their commercial and operational objectives.


He was Australia's first Chief Resilience Officer (CRO), appointed under the prestigious Rockefeller Foundation' Global Resilient Cities initiative. As CRO, Toby created and delivered Australia’s first urban resilience strategy, Resilient Melbourne, a collaboration across Melbourne’s 32 councils, State, private and not-for-profit organisations.


Before this, Toby spent two decades working, across five continents on significant corporate and community-based partnerships. He moved to Melbourne as ANZ Bank’s Global Head of Sustainable Development. He then worked with MMG mining corporation to help establish its Sustainable Development team and deliver a targeted community development program for its operations in Lao PDR. Toby was head of PwC’s Sustainability and Climate Change team in Hong Kong and led PwC UK’s sustainability work with global retail and consumer goods companies. 


Toby is a Board member of the Business Council for Sustainable Development Australia and an Associate of the Melbourne Sustainable Society Institute at the University of Melbourne. He has a Masters degree in Housing and Urbanisation from the London School of Economics.

Support When You Need it Most

Brett has a stellar record of achievement as a senior executive in government, community organisations and small business. During a 20-year executive career he has held senior strategic planning, culture change and operational roles spanning diverse teams, functions and portfolios.


His leadership has been shaped by high-pressure assignments and pivotal experiences including oversight of relief and recovery efforts after the Flinders Street incident in Melbourne in December 2017, frontline roles during and after Victoria’s Black Saturday Bushfires, and more recently supporting community recovery planning for the Black Summer Bushfires.

A number of Brett’s initiatives inform state, national and international policies and frameworks. As a leader he combines strong interpersonal skills with strategic thinking, a deep understanding of operational realities, a demonstrable history of innovation and sound financial management. This enables him to help clients achieve outstanding strategic, commercial and community outcomes in arenas as diverse as emergency management, public safety, environmental management, risk management and societal resilience.

Brett’s deep commitment to public service and his ability to deliver change in complex, highly regulated settings has been recognised with awards including the Emergency Services Medal, Australian Surf Lifesaver of the Year and International Citations of Merit.
