Madelyn Lackman

Resilience Specialist

Madelyn is a Disaster Resilience Specialist. Her training has centered around internationally recognised frameworks and agendas that shape a global response to the world's most pressing challenges. Over the past several years, Madelyn has developed key capabilities in analyzing the social, economic, and environmental impacts of disaster, as well as developing innovative strategies to reduce vulnerabilities and increase community capacity.   

    

Madelyn has been involved in a range of high impact disaster recovery projects, internationally and domestically. Most recently, Madelyn has engaged with community members impacted by the 2019/2020 Black Summer bushfire. In conjunction with the local council, Madelyn and her team developed and delivered a post disaster recovery project that focused on providing WaSH facilities to community members impacted by the bushfires.    

  

She holds a B.S. in Architecture from Portland State University and a Master of Disaster Resilience and Sustainable Development from the University of Newcastle, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Disaster Risk Reduction.
